The company was founded in March 2014 by serial entrepreneurs Keith Rabois, Eric Wu, who previously founded Movity, a real-estate startup acquired by Trulia, and JD Ross.

The company raised $10 million of Series A venture funding in a deal led by Khosla Ventures on September 5, 2014, putting the company's pre-money valuation at $22 million.

The company raised $20 million of Series B funding led by GGV Capital on February 26, 2015, putting the valuation at $112 million.
